Aqara Thermostat E1 Integration and Temperature Control

I’ve recently integrated the Aqara Thermostat E1 into my smart home setup, and I must say, it’s been a fantastic addition. The ability to control my home’s temperature remotely has brought a new level of convenience to my daily routine. However, I encountered a minor challenge when trying to pair multiple thermostats with a single temperature sensor. Let me share my experience and how I resolved it.Initially, I set up the Aqara Thermostat E1 in both my PC room and living room, each equipped with their own temperature sensors. The PC room uses an Aqara Thermostat E1 and a temperature sensor T1, while the living room has a Climate Sensor W100 and another Aqara Thermostat E1. My goal was to have the Climate Sensor W100 dictate the temperature settings for both thermostats when adjusting the temperature. However, I discovered that the Aqara app only allows pairing the W100 with one E1 at a time. After some research and experimentation, I found a workaround using Home Assistant’s automation features. By setting up a rule, I can have the W100’s temperature adjustments trigger changes on both thermostats simultaneously. This involved creating a custom automation in Home Assistant that listens for temperature changes on the W100 and updates the target temperature on both E1 thermostats accordingly. The process was a bit technical, but the result has been well worth the effort. Now, adjusting the temperature in one place automatically updates both thermostats, ensuring consistent comfort throughout my home. This setup has not only simplified my daily routine but also enhanced the overall efficiency of my smart home system. If anyone else is looking to integrate multiple Aqara Thermostats with a single temperature sensor, I highly recommend exploring Home Assistant’s automation capabilities. It’s a powerful tool that can help you achieve the desired functionality without relying solely on the app’s limitations. Happy automating!
