Aqara Thermostat W600 stuck on "F2" Calibration loop

Hi everyone,

I am having trouble setting up my new Aqara Thermostat W600 connected via Thread (using the Aqara M100 Hub).

Here is my setup:

  • Device: Aqara Thermostat W600
  • Firmware: 1.0.0.6 (No updates available)
  • Valve System: Danfoss Valve
  • Mounting: I did not use any of the included adapters because the pre-installed fastener on the thermostat fit directly onto my valve.

The Issue: According to the manual, after pairing, the device shows F1. After that it starts the calibration, and it switches to code F2. The manual states that F2 indicates the calibration process and should disappear after about 10 seconds.

However, on my unit, it stays on F2 for about 5 minutes. I can hear the motor running, it sounds like it is trying to move but never finishes the cycle. After approximately 5 minutes , the device just crashes/turns off without ever completing the calibration or showing the temperature.

I have already tried:

  1. Re-mounting the device to ensure it is tight.
  2. Using a small spacer (coin) inside, suspecting the pin might be too short, but the behavior remains exactly the same.
  3. Resetting and re-pairing multiple times.
  4. Switched to use Zigbee with a third party stick (Sonoff) – but with the exact same problem.

Has anyone experienced this F2 loop on the W600?
Does anyone know how to fix it or is my device just broken?

Any advice is appreciated.

Remove W600 from the app.
Reinstall and in the first window switch to Zigbee protocol.
Install W600 (Zigbee).
Update the firmware.
Then everything should be fine.

Okay, I just tried your solution.

The switch to zigbee was successful, but there was no update available (it shows firmware .
I pressed the calibration button in the app and then it went into that F2 loop again and switched the display off after a couple minutes.

Firmware, what version?

It’s on version 0.0.0_1839 since the switch to zigbee today.

Try taking new batteries (new) and replacing them in the W600. Maybe when you tried to calibrate before that they died. If you have a tester, check what the voltage is on the batteries.
The W600 is currently very sensitive to undervoltage during calibration.
