Aqara U200 issue

I purchased a U200 lock through a Kickstarter campaign. A few weeks ago, I started noticing unusual behavior. When I try to lock or unlock it, the lock turns back and forth several times before completing the action. This issue did not occur when I first started using it. I have tried recalibrating the lock both manually and automatically, but the problem returns within a day after calibration.

Does it do this when your door is open?

Does it do it ALL the time?

I experience this issue every time I lock or unlock the door, whether I use the keypad or the app. The door’s current state doesn’t affect the problem. Each time I press “unlock,” the lock rotates back and forth for a while before unlocking. The same thing happens when I lock the door.

OK. So open the door and then lock/unlock and see if it has the same issue. This will tell you if there is an alignment/friction issue or if it is the lock itself.

OK, so now you know it is the lock and not a friction issue. It is behaving like there is a friction issue though. Are you getting any error messages or notifications?

I don’t see anything unusual in logs - just “Locked sucessfully” / “unlocked from inside”. I can’t access device diagnostic logs tho.

So you can contact the support- maybe they can help . If it’s already out of warranty, then you might can repair it by yourself

I agree with @DEChrisE . It sounds like the gearbox is slipping initially.

Ive had issues with the gear box too and i opened it up, cleaned and put brand new grease in it, works like a charm with low down time!
