Aqara U200 suddenly turning extremely slow? (Worked fine for 3 months)

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out because I’m having a bit of a frustrating experience with my Aqara U200 Smart Lock and I’m wondering if anyone here has encountered something similar.

I bought the lock about three months ago on Amazon, and honestly, it worked flawlessly until recently. Now, I’m facing a strange issue: when I try to unlock it, the motor starts at a normal speed but then suddenly drops to a super slow, sluggish pace. It crawls so slowly that I’m constantly worried it won’t finish the turn or that I’ll be stuck outside.

What I’ve tried so far:

• Multiple recalibrations via the app.

• A complete factory reset.

• Checking for any physical obstructions (everything seems clear).

Unfortunately, the problem keeps coming back. It’s a shame because I really liked the lock, but right now it feels a bit unreliable and definitely not like the premium product I expected.

Has anyone else dealt with this “slow-mo” motor issue? Is it a known firmware bug, or does it sound like the motor is dying? I’d love to hear your thoughts or any tips before I try to go through the official warranty process.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Did you enabled the silent mode at your lock?

No it‘s on quick-mode

Hmm , so it happens always or just on different occasions?
What is the production date of the lock? It’s printed outside of the packaging

Could this be the gears issue I’ve read about on other posts? I don’t have a lot of experience with U200. You should contact Aqara support because they might be able to identify a defect and help you out.

Usually the mechanical issues are caused by the grease (there were some batches with grease that didn’t withstand lower temperatures). Or the cylinder/door issues (like the unaligned door or old cylinder)
