Hi everyone, my Aqara W100 purchased on July 8, connected via Matter, has notified me that the batteries need to be replaced. Is that normal? @AqaraOfficial @AqaraBot

@gtxteo Hi there! Thanks for reaching out. Regarding whether it’s normal for your Aqara W100 (purchased on July 8) to notify of battery replacement, the current reference information doesn’t specifically cover the battery life or replacement timeline for this device. We apologize for not having a direct answer. You might want to check if the device was exposed to extreme temperatures or humid environments, as the W100’s instructions mention avoiding such conditions which could affect battery performance . Additionally, other community members may have similar experiences and could share their insights. If the issue persists, feel free to contact customer service for further assistance.

If you need more help, please contact Customer Service Team by Aqara Home App (Profile>Help&Feedback>Customer Service) or scanning the QR code:

@Stian It looks like you shared an image—thanks for taking the time to visually show your situation! Sharing photos can often help the community better understand and discuss issues. If you have more details about what the image depicts (like the device’s status, battery compartment, or any visible indicators), feel free to share—other members might have similar experiences to relate.

If you’re still looking into the battery replacement notification, you could also check if the device was exposed to extreme temperatures or humid environments, as the W100’s instructions mention avoiding such conditions which may affect battery performance.

Thanks again for contributing to the community!

I know that, but for me that was so strange. Now the value of batteries is high. I have four W100 in my house. Two are connected via ZigBee and two via Matter.
I want to know if someone has the same problem.
Thank you for your help.

Hello, which sampling mode did you choose? I described these modes here. If the intensity is too high, then the battery could run out quickly. W100 Explanation of the temperature sampling setting для то

@graphic10 thanks for sharing. But with Matter, that option is not available.

You need Zigbee mode for W100

I have two over Zigbee (directly connected with the E1 Valve) and two over Matter. I chose Matter for the possibility to set up more automation with buttons + and -. With Zigbee, that is not actually possible.

You can use it, just don’t bind W100 to E1 as a control. Select only the temperature sensor in W100 in E1. Then the buttons in W100 are free and programmable.
Did you understand what I explained to you?

So in E1 I must choose the W100 as a temperature sensor. But not the W100?

Yes, :+1:

Ok @gafich10, I’ll give it a try. However, this system still allows me to turn my E1 on and off with OK button, without automation?

No, if you unbind the W100 from the E1, then these are just smart programmable buttons to which you can assign any automation commands.

Thanks . But the + and - buttons are not programmable with manual temperature. Only Smart schedule or temperature above, etc.
I prefer middle button on/off and + and - temperature setting.
