Just curious if anyone (beta testers) has set up automations with the W200 Thermostat Hub and the FP300 Presence sensors to automate home/away/vacation modes, or if anyone is using the geofencing option over the smart schedules. How’s it been working for ya?
@Gunblade_Xo1 You seem to be experiencing an issue with setting up automations between the W200 Thermostat Hub and FP300 Presence sensors, or using the geofencing option over smart schedules. You can contact customer support for assistance. Contact the Aqara Home App Customer Service Team (Profile> Help & Feedback > Customer Service) or scan the QR code:
This will be more efficient. If you do not have an Aqara Home account, “Please click here” to create a ticket.
Well? I’m not using it with the FP300 but I’m using the smart schedule and it’s been spot on every time I leave/return or the time of day changes according to my schedule.
I’m not sure the FP300 would be ideal for that automation? Can you share more information why you asked about the FP300 specifically?
The FP300 would be constantly changing the W200 even though you would still remain in the home.
The idea of the presence sensor is nice (there’s even one built in), but I find this problematic for controlling the modes on central HVAC. It is only ideal if the thermostat is directly near the door or path when arriving home. In my case the thermostats are not located centrally. I use geo-location.
That said, I have an office with it’s own mini-split system. It cannot use W200, but I use the FP300 for my climate settings there. It works in this scenario because it’s a single space and the presence sensor is accurate to know I am there - versus heating my whole home based on the status of a sensor in a single room.
Something for Aqara to take note of though, other thermostat systems do have the ability to trigger controls based on different sensors at different times. That could be useful if you had multiple FP300s reporting ambient temperature and presence.
Hey @srl77411!
I was thinking more about whether I have guests over for a few days, and I’m at work or not physically home. Would love to know if there is an option to detect presence/occupancy, then override the schedule until the next schedule trigger. Or if the company were to leave my home, then have it adjust to away mode. I know there are geofencing automations, but not sure if it’s a one-off trigger or if it will continuously ping. Was kinda wondering if Aqara would add a sort of “follow me” feature with their presence sensors.
Good idea, you mean the“Follow me” function
If you use Apple Home, it will automatically switch to the Home scene when you are at home, and switch to the Away scene when you leave. When you are ready to sleep—for example, when the sleep schedule set on your iPhone arrives—it will automatically switch to the Sleep scene. This also includes long absences such as traveling.
If you use Aqara Home, you can run the corresponding temperature according to a schedule, or set up related automations: IF someone is present somewhere, THEN take a certain action.
In future versions, we will add simpler Follow Me and scene configuration options.
Awesome thank you! I have it hooked in to Apple Home through the Aqara App (with the primary protocol being Zigbee). Hope to see future versions integrate this better! Just wanted to pass this along as I know we are currently in a testing period ![]()
