So I got the w600 and the installation instructions are not working. The device is setup as a matter device meaning when I add it via the app as not matter icon it stays in the loading screen endlessly. But the manual says you just click for 10 seconds an then you can add it no not working. What works is that you click on add as matter. An then input the code manually. Just scanning the code from manual or device does not work!
Then you get a screen where you can select zigby as the Protokoll it updates it and I can connect it to my m2 device successfully. You should update the manual. Normal people don’t understand this…

The device added smoothly via MagicPair, and the Zigbee protocol was selected immediately. Watch the video; it might help you understand the process.
I can tell you that is not how it worked for me! First of all all symbols are flashing not only the connection symbol! Second when pressing 10 seconds the device firstly switched on kids mode and then goes into pairing mode.
When I open the Aqara app there was no icon showing the found device I had to select it.
And I don’t watch internet videos when I firstly install an device I am actually using the provided manual and the linked one in the internet… and both show a slightly different process so they should be changed at least the one provided in the internet.
No I wanted to add the device following the instructions from the manual. I did knew that I should use zigby because matter does not have the needed capabilities. And the instructions provided by the manual and the video did not work like explained. It started that the complete display is turning on and of and not only the symbol for the WiFi connection… so it took me quite a while to figure it out.
But it only worked because I read the other posts from here…
Connect with matter works only if you manually enter the code . The QR code does not work…
That is not what I want to explain. It’s not about choice. It is about a wrong manual. OOTB the W600 is configured as a matter device. And the instructions printed in the manual are not correct to connect it! If you just follow them like I did it’s not working. This should be corrected by Aqara . Not every customer is willing to read through Internet forums and watching videos to figure out how to setup his bought device. The provided manual and video should show the correct process how to do this. But that is not the case. And that is my experience.

Hello , If the device did not appear automatically, there could be two reasons for this: you did not have Bluetooth turned on or the W600 thermostat was not in pairing mode.
I checked again the setup bluetooth was and is on and the aqara app had/has access to bluetooth as well. I removed the device from the aqara dashboard and after a few seconds it did go automatically in pairing mode. Which is nice.
I clicked on add device and then yes the device appeared as mentioned.
But i am pretty sure it was not when trying to do this the first time. So there are now 2 possibilities:
i did not pay proper attention.
Or when set to matter it does not appear.
Perhaps someone can confirm this.
