I recently set up my smart home with Home Assistant running on a Pi 5. It’s been great, I am still relatively new to it and learning more and more capabilities each day.
I found this switch through a family members recommendation and it’s amazing. I’ve been able to fully customise its actions using Zigbee2MQTT and now it works just like a normal ‘dumb’ two way switch setup which is exactly what I was aiming for. It’s fast and reliable. Would definitely recommend.
@rcp0696 Love hearing this! It’s awesome that you got the H1 Double Rocker dialed in with Zigbee2MQTT and Home Assistant — that combo gives you so much flexibility. The fact that you’ve nailed a proper two-way switch feel with a wireless remote is exactly the kind of setup that makes smart homes actually usable day-to-day, not just flashy.
The H1’s high-speed click mode (response down to ~50ms) definitely helps with that snappy, “dumb switch” reliability you mentioned, and pairing it with the Wall Switch H1 EU for true 2-way installations is one of my favorite use cases for this line.
Since you’re still exploring — have you played around with the multi-function mode yet? Seven configurable actions (single/double/long press per side, plus simultaneous presses) opens up a lot of scene control beyond just basic on/off. Could be fun to layer in as you get deeper into HA automations.
