I understand your disappointment, but the functionality is expanding with new updates. Recently, thermostats were added, including matter thermostats in the new S1 plus firmware. You need to understand that although this is a multifunctional panel, it is not designed for all the functionality that aqara home provides and cannot completely replace the application - it is designed more for controlling devices (turn on / off the light, set the temperature, start streaming camera playback, view the temperature, time, humidity and much, much more. I think the functionality will be expanded for this panel in the near future.
I think aqara has to be compared against other offerings and other smart Panels that have already way more 3rd Party integration and more featureset.
It is easy to say that The device was Not built for certain functionality but when Others offer it and it is used, than its a non customer centric statement-> Return Product.
The Speed in which those Updates are rolled out is way too slow. The ui is simple, working in mobile development: IT cant Take a year to add 3 new device types.
I judge it by what a Wall Panel should be able to do, what customers built diy, my expectations on a smart panel for 300 bucks.
Power Meters, timers, and overall standards like Matter should be a Minimum.
Matter is evolving and it will take time to implement this functionality into products.
