I’ve been trying to get my August Lock to work seamlessly with my Phillips Hue lights, but it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster. I’ve set up the “Reliable virtual lock” feature, but honestly, it’s inconsistent—it works maybe one out of seven times. I’ve got Z-Wave repeaters lined up from my Hubitat Elevation up to the front door, but it doesn’t seem to make a difference. I stumbled upon an IFTTT solution that connects August Lock to the Hue Bridge through a paid service, and I’m seriously considering it despite the cost. If it works, it’s worth it!
On another front, I’ve been experimenting with outdoor USB power outlets for my Wyze cams. Running 120VAC through the attic to a weatherproof wiring box works, but converting that to USB is tricky. I’ve used wallwarts before, but they’re not ideal. I’m looking for a product that can handle 120VAC and output USB directly. Any recommendations would be awesome!
I also wanted to mention the feature suggestion about showing the current mode on the dashboard. It would be so handy to see the mode right when I open the app and maybe even change it from there. Persistent notifications with action buttons could really enhance the user experience.
Lastly, I’ve heard about others facing issues with KNX entities after updates. It’s unsettling to see all my KNX devices duplicated and renamed with “_2” at the end. I ended up manually switching everything over, but it’s frustrating that this happened in the first place. Has anyone else dealt with this and found a smoother solution?
