Hi everyone, I’m new to SmartThings and have been exploring different scenarios to automate my outdoor lights. I wanted to share my journey and see if anyone has tackled a similar challenge.
I’ve set up my outdoor lights to turn on at sunset and off at 11:30 PM, which works perfectly using a basic automation. However, I’d like to add a presence sensor so that if someone arrives home after 11:30 PM, the lights come on for 15 minutes before turning off. This would be especially helpful for my family members who sometimes come home late.
I’ve searched through the forums and found some great ideas, but nothing exactly fits my needs. I’m curious if anyone has implemented a similar setup and how they managed the presence detection. Did you use a specific sensor or integrate with another system? Any insights or tips would be greatly appreciated!
I’m also wondering if there’s a way to combine this with other automations, like adjusting the brightness or color temperature based on the time of day. It would be amazing to have a seamless and customizable outdoor lighting system.
