Bad French Translation : Motion Sensor P2

There are several incorrect translations in the French version of the information displayed for the Motion Sensor P2.

To begin with, the term “Absence” is not appropriate in this context. “Absence / Présence” only makes sense for sensors such as the FP1E or FP2, which detect whether someone is in the room.
For a motion sensor, the correct terminology is different. The interface should display:

  • When motion is detected: “Alarme mouvement : Détectée”
  • When no motion is detected: “Alarme mouvement : Désactivée”

This phrasing accurately reflects how a motion sensor operates.

For the luminosity reading, the correct French term is “luminosité”, not “éclairage”. “Luminosité” refers to the measured light level in lux, which matches the technical meaning.

The log section also contains several errors.
“Journal de détection de présence” is not suitable for a motion-based device. It should be labelled:

“Journal de détection de mouvement”

The entries inside the log repeat the same translation issues mentioned earlier:

  • “Présence” should be: “Alarme mouvement : Détectée”
  • “Absence” should be: “Alarme mouvement : Désactivée”

Finally, numerical values should not be mixed with text in the same field. Measurements and labels must remain clearly separated to ensure readability and proper localization.

The label doesn’t have sens “Détécté pour :” if it’s a period it should be "Détécté pendant : "

“13min10deuxieme” has no sens in French! it should be “13 min 20 sec” a better would be “13 minutes and 20 secondes”

A right sentence should be :" Détécté pendant : 13 minutes and 20 secondes"

Hop this helps you.

Je ne crois pas que cela soit une histoire de traduction car meme en anglais Aqara utilise les meme termes.

Oui, mais reconnais que leur traducteur est à côté de la plaque… Aqara devrait vérifier avant de lancer un produit la qualité du texte/traduction ;-(

Cela ne donne pas une bonne impression.
