Balancing Security and Privacy with Home Cameras

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience and get some advice on balancing security and privacy with home cameras. I’ve been a big fan of smart home tech, especially cameras, to keep my family safe. Right now, I have eight cameras around my house—two outside, one in the garage, and five inside. I feel much safer knowing I can keep an eye on things even when I’m not home. But my wife recently mentioned she feels it’s getting a bit too much, and I can see her point. I don’t want to invade her privacy, but I also want to ensure our home is secure.

I’ve been trying to find a middle ground. We’ve talked about adjusting the camera angles so they’re not too intrusive, and maybe using privacy covers when we’re not actively monitoring. I’ve also come across some tips in the community about choosing cameras with motion sensors or facial recognition, so they only record when necessary. It’s been a learning process, but I’m glad we’re having this conversation.

I’d love to hear how others have handled this balance. Do you have any tips or tricks for keeping your home secure without making it feel like Big Brother is watching? I’m also curious if anyone has tried specific camera models that offer good security features while respecting privacy. Let’s share our experiences and learn from each other!

Thanks for reading, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts. :rocket:
