Battery Level Display and Device Compatibility Tips

Hey everyone, I’ve been exploring some interesting features and facing a few challenges with my smart home setup. Let me share what I’ve found and maybe get some advice from you all!

First off, I noticed that the battery level of my motion sensor isn’t showing up on my main dashboard. It’s only visible when I switch to a less cluttered layout. I’m curious if there’s a way to move the battery indicator to a more consistent spot, like the top left, similar to how contact sensors are displayed. This would make monitoring easier across all my devices. Any tips on how to achieve this?

Another thing I’ve been working on is integrating different brands of smart devices. It’s been a bit of a puzzle, but I’ve managed to get most of them working together. One challenge I’m facing is with my Wyze Doorbell Camera. I have the CAM PLUS subscription, but the motion detection is giving me a lot of false alerts. Even with sensitivity set to the lowest, it still picks up shadows and wind movements. I’d love to disable the motion detection entirely but keep the AI person detection active. Has anyone found a workaround for this?

On a more positive note, I’ve discovered some great ways to organize my smart devices using virtual groups in my hub. It’s been a lifesaver for keeping track of everything, especially during the setup phase. I’m also really impressed with how the Shelly em3 handles my energy monitoring. It’s been a reliable tool for tracking my consumption patterns.

I’d love to hear from others who’ve successfully integrated multiple brands or found creative solutions to common issues. Let’s share our experiences and tips to help each other out!

Cheers,
