Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience with improving the battery life of my Arlo cameras. I’ve had these cameras for about three years now, and they’ve been a great addition to my home security setup. However, one camera has been giving me a bit of trouble with its battery life. It goes through a freshly charged battery in less than twelve hours, which is quite inconvenient. The camera isn’t used much—maybe 1-2 short recordings a day—and I’ve tried multiple batteries, so it doesn’t seem to be a battery issue.
After doing some research, I found that this isn’t an uncommon problem. Many users have reported similar issues, but unfortunately, I haven’t come across a definitive solution yet. I’ve reached out to Arlo support, but I’m not holding my breath. In the meantime, I’ve been considering replacing the problematic camera, but I’d love to hear if anyone has found a workaround or a fix.
On a more positive note, I’ve been experimenting with adjusting the camera settings to see if that helps. For instance, reducing the resolution and lowering the frame rate have made a slight difference in battery life. I’m also looking into whether motion detection sensitivity could be contributing to the drain. If anyone has tips or tricks for extending battery life on Arlo cameras, I’d be thrilled to hear them!
Let’s keep the discussion going and help each other troubleshoot these issues. Happy automation everyone! ![]()
