Hi all, I’ve been having some trouble with battery life in my smart home setup, and I’m hoping someone might have some insights or suggestions. I’ve been using the Eurotronic Spirit thermostat for a while now, and while it’s been working well in most areas, the battery life has been a bit of a headache.
Initially, I installed the Spirit in my bathroom, and it worked perfectly for a few months. However, I started noticing that the batteries would drain much faster than expected. In fact, the thermostat would display an “INS” error every other day, forcing me to remove and reinsert the batteries to get it working again. I reached out to Eurotronic, and they sent me a new unit, but the problem persisted. I’ve now gone through three units, and the latest one, which is supposed to have improved battery life, is still draining batteries quickly.
I also have several Z-Wave sensors installed around my home, including door and window sensors. These devices are supposed to last for years on a single set of batteries, but I’m finding that they’re going through batteries much faster than expected. In some cases, I’m replacing batteries every few weeks, which is both inconvenient and costly. I’ve checked the settings and made sure everything is up to date, but nothing seems to help.
I’m wondering if others have experienced similar issues with their Eurotronic Spirit thermostats or Z-Wave sensors. Have you found any solutions or workarounds to extend battery life? I’d love to hear any tips or suggestions you might have. Maybe there’s something I’m missing in the setup or configuration that could help improve the situation.
Thanks in advance for any help or advice you can offer!
