Hey everyone! I’ve been diving into optimizing my smart home setup, and I thought I’d share some of my findings and tips in case they can help others. 
First off, I’ve been really impressed with how some devices handle battery life. For example, my Govee smart buttons have a feature where you can set different actions for short and long presses. I’d love to see more devices adopt this functionality—it’s super handy for routines like turning off multiple lights or starting a scene with a single press! 
On the topic of battery life, I wanted to touch on the built-in alerts some devices offer. I recently found out that my ST sensors have low battery alerts at 15%, 5%, and even 1%—though I wish these thresholds were adjustable. It’s been a lifesaver for keeping track of my outdoor sensors without constantly checking them. 
Speaking of sensors, I’ve been experimenting with integrating some Z-Wave devices into my setup. I stumbled upon an issue where my Z-Wave scene controller wasn’t being recognized properly. After some digging, I realized it was a configuration issue on my end. If anyone else is struggling with similar problems, I highly recommend checking the device type settings in your configuration file—it might save you a lot of frustration! 
Another area I’ve been focusing on is automations. I’ve set up a few routines using my Shelly devices to control lighting and temperature based on my schedule. It’s been a game-changer for energy efficiency and convenience. For instance, my morning routine now includes a gradual wake-up light effect using my non-Hue LED strip connected to a Zigbee controller. It’s a fantastic way to start the day without the harshness of sudden bright light!
