Bedroom reading smart lights that don't need voice or camera activation

So i don’t want voice control in my home cause that is lame and kind of tacky

What you could do is a T1 lightstrip on the bedboard set to a dim reading light or whatever custom you like, and then a P1 motion sensor set to on/off, so you just wave your hand. That way, you don’t need to hit a switch or touch your phone, its all hand activated.

There aren’t many on the market (and none by Aqara) but a pressure pad sensor under your book could work great in this use case. Pick your book up and a reading light scene is activated.

Sounds like a good test for the upcoming Aqara sensor.

you could do the same with the sensor by just popping it (it’s also a vibration sensor) but idk what the price is on that thing. i was thinking of repurposing a P1 that im hoping to replace with a presence sensor. i also have too many T1s in my apartment from a project that never materialized
