Been having a lot of problems with my FP2 STAYING CONNECTED AND actually working constantly

I have problems with it dropping false.
Presences and lingering presences that don’t exist

Hi @reimboldclint the FP2 can sometimes be tricky if the place it located is not the best on. Can you show us a picture where it’s mounted?

A screenshot of the map with the zones would certainly also be helpful in understanding the problem.

I had problems every time because you can leave and enter the room in several places. If you don’t mark everything as an entrance or exit, it can happen that people get stuck at the edges of the zone, even if they are long gone.

Sometimes it helps to look at the map when people are recognized incorrectly. Are the people at the edge of the map? Is it always the same spot? Maybe a curtain moving in the wind? Or a fan or something similar?

It can help to mark places as sources of interference or to place doors and furniture on the map so that the algorithm understands it better.

The algorithm also learns when you use the “AI Learning” option in the device settings.

I’ve set up a scene in the Aqara app that sends a signal to the FP2 sensor that no one is in the zone. I can trigger this scene via Siri. My door lock also triggers this scene. I’m not sure if the algorithm learns from this.

I also create automation that is triggered when I activate the night alarm. This automation deactivates an other automation that turns on the lights when somebody is in the zone. This also has to happen when I open the windows, as one of the windows covers the sensor when open. This is handled by a scene that opens the blinds.

If your FP2 loses connection, it is best to check the Wi-Fi connection near the sensor using an app that displays the signal strength. If necessary, the Wi-Fi must be extended using a repeater.

Last but not least, you should install the latest firmware.
