Has anyone use the camera for a birdhouse and is there a solar panel power source.
@dpowlina Using a camera for a birdhouse sounds like a wonderful idea to observe nature up close! In terms of powering Aqara cameras with a solar panel, the current reference information does not specifically mention solar panel compatibility for Aqara cameras. Most Aqara cameras are designed for indoor use and have specific power requirements, such as USB-C or Micro USB ports, and require adapters ranging from 5V to 48V depending on the model.
While solar power is not directly mentioned in the Aqara documentation, you could potentially use a solar panel with a compatible power bank that meets the camera’s power specifications. However, it’s important to ensure that your setup provides consistent and adequate power to avoid interruptions.
I encourage you to share your experiences if you try this setup and perhaps others in the community might contribute additional insights or solutions!
@dpowlina It’s great to see you exploring creative uses for Aqara cameras in a birdhouse! Currently, the reference information we have doesn’t specifically mention using the cameras in birdhouses or solar panel power sources for them .
If you’re looking for power solutions, the existing specs include options like DC adapters, USB-C, PoE, and battery power (six AA 1.5V LR6 batteries) . For solar power, you might want to check compatibility with the camera’s voltage requirements (e.g., 5V, 12V-24V AC/DC for some models) , but we don’t have official solar panel recommendations at this time.
Hopefully, other community members who’ve tried similar setups can share their experiences! If you have specific suggestions or need further help, feel free to contact our Customer Service Team via the Aqara Home App (Profile>Help&Feedback>Customer Service) or by clicking here to create a ticket.
