Blink Camera Experience and Govee Game Ideas

Hey everyone! I wanted to share my experience with the Blink cameras and some creative ideas I’ve been brainstorming for Govee’s Space Adventure game. :film_projector::sparkles:

First, regarding the Blink cameras—I’ve been using them for a while now and love how they integrate with my smartphone. However, I recently noticed that sharing video clips from the Blink app to my phone’s messaging app isn’t working as smoothly as it used to. All my apps are up to date, so I’m a bit puzzled. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Any troubleshooting tips would be appreciated! :thinking:

Now, onto the fun stuff—Govee’s Space Adventure game! :rocket: It’s been a blast, but I think it could be even better with a few tweaks. Here are some ideas I’ve been tossing around:

  1. A Fourth Boss Fight: Combining elements from the first three bosses could make for an epic showdown! Imagine facing a boss that’s a mix of all previous challenges—super intense but totally doable!
  2. Double Points Power-Up: This could be a high-risk, high-reward feature. It only lasts 15-20 seconds and spawns randomly, adding a layer of excitement and strategy. The color teal for the power-up icon would be perfect! :sparkles:
  3. Player vs. Player Mode: It would be awesome to have a split-screen mode where two players face off, each with their own ship and power-ups in the middle. Both ships could have 50 HP, and the first to reach 5 consecutive wins gets a golden ship! :trophy:
  4. Custom Bullet Colors: Let’s let players choose their bullet colors from the whole color wheel. Imagine blue bullets zipping through space or red ones streaking across the screen! :art:

These ideas could really elevate the game and make it even more engaging. I’d love to hear what everyone thinks! :blush:

On a different note, I’ve also been experimenting with automating my Home Assistant backups. I create a daily snapshot and use a file sync utility to copy it to an always-on PC. Then, I run a cleanup service to keep only the last 20 snapshots. This has drastically reduced the size of my backups and the time it takes to generate them. If anyone is interested, I can share the automation script I’m using! :computer:

Lastly, I’d like to thank everyone in the community for their support and creativity. It’s amazing to see how we can all collaborate to make our smart homes even smarter! :handshake:

Happy tinkering and game-playing! :rocket::video_game:
