Blink Doorbell Installation and OpenHAB Custom Widget Tips

Hi everyone, I recently installed a Blink doorbell and wanted to share my experience with wiring it directly to a doorbell transformer without using the chime. This setup has been working perfectly, providing the benefits of hardwiring without the obnoxious doorbell sound. It’s a great solution for those who prefer a cleaner installation without the traditional doorbell setup.

On another note, I’ve been exploring OpenHAB and found it incredibly versatile. I wanted to share a tip on creating custom widgets. I discovered that using ngModel.name allows you to retrieve the current dashboard name within your widget code. This feature is particularly useful for dynamic configurations and can save a lot of time when setting up dashboards. However, I noticed that this method works best when the widget is placed as a header replacement. It’s a handy trick for anyone looking to enhance their OpenHAB setup with more personalized widgets.

I’d love to hear from others who have tried similar setups or have tips for optimizing custom widgets in OpenHAB. Let’s keep the conversation going and share our experiences! :rocket:
