Hello Blink users! I wanted to share my recent experience with the Blink Mini Pan-Tilt cameras and how I managed to resolve a calibration issue that was quite frustrating. Hopefully, this can help others who might be facing similar problems.
I recently purchased two Blink Mini Pan-Tilt Cameras and set them up without any initial issues. However, both cameras failed to calibrate properly, displaying error messages in the app and rendering them unusable in their default positions. After several attempts to recalibrate, including mounting and unmounting the devices, I was still met with the same failure message.
After some research and reaching out to Blink support, here are the steps that finally resolved the issue for me:
- Factory Reset: Unmount the cameras and perform a factory reset. This can be done by holding down the power button for 10 seconds until the LED light turns red. This step essentially resets all settings, including calibration.
- Fresh Installation: After resetting, reinstall the cameras and go through the setup process again. This time, I made sure to follow the calibration prompts carefully and avoid any interruptions.
- Firmware Update: Check for any available firmware updates for the cameras. Blink often releases updates that can resolve bugs and improve functionality.
- Contact Support: If the issue persists, don’t hesitate to contact Blink customer support. They were very helpful in guiding me through the troubleshooting process and provided additional insights that weren’t immediately obvious.
I’m relieved to say that after following these steps, both cameras are now working perfectly, and the calibration issue is a thing of the past. It’s a great reminder that even though technology can sometimes be frustrating, persistence and reaching out for help can lead to successful resolutions.
If anyone else is struggling with similar issues, feel free to reach out, and I’d be happy to share more details about my experience. Happy Blinking! ![]()
