Blink Outdoor Camera Battery Issue and Solar Panel troubleshooting

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience with the Blink Outdoor Camera and its solar panel setup. Earlier this week, I noticed that my camera was showing zero battery power, even though I had just replaced the battery two months ago. To make matters more confusing, the solar panel, which should have been charging the camera, wasn’t working either. I’m here to share how I tackled this issue and hopefully help others who might be facing the same problem.

First, I checked the placement of the solar panel. It had been installed in an area that gets plenty of sunlight throughout the day. However, upon closer inspection, I realized that the panel wasn’t oriented correctly. It was facing east, which means it only gets direct sunlight in the morning. I adjusted it to face south, ensuring it captures sunlight for most of the day.

Next, I examined the wiring between the solar panel and the camera. I found that the wires had become loose over time, which was likely causing the charging issues. I reconnected them securely and tested the setup. Within a few hours, the battery level started to increase, and the camera was back to functioning properly.

Here’s a tip I learned during this process: Always ensure that the solar panel is positioned to receive maximum sunlight and that all connections are secure. If the issue persists, consider cleaning the solar panel, as dirt and debris can obstruct sunlight and reduce efficiency.

It’s been a learning experience, and I’m glad I could resolve the issue without having to replace any components. I hope this helps someone else who might be struggling with similar problems. Happy troubleshooting! :rocket:
