Bluetooth connectivity has been a game-changer for my smart home setup, but I’ve encountered a peculiar issue that I wanted to share and discuss with the community. Bluetooth devices keep popping up in the ‘Discovered’ pane, even though I’ve disabled discovery in my configuration. This has led to a flood of duplicate devices, especially from my Govee and Oral-B integrations. While I’ve managed to mitigate this by ignoring the duplicates, they keep reappearing with different MAC addresses, which is quite frustrating.
I’ve tried several troubleshooting steps, including disabling discovery in my configuration.yaml file and using the Bermuda Trilateration integration for presence tracking. However, the issue persists, and I’m curious to know if others have faced similar challenges or have found effective solutions. Has anyone successfully stopped the discovery of new Bluetooth devices without compromising the functionality of their existing setups?
I’d also love to hear if there are any best practices for managing multiple Bluetooth devices, especially with the growing number of ESP32 BT Proxy devices and Shelly units in my setup. Any insights or tips would be greatly appreciated!
