Broadlink Integration and Govee Black Friday Deals

I’ve been diving into the world of smart home devices lately, and while most of my experiences have been positive, there’s always that occasional hiccup that gets me thinking. For instance, my Z-Wave and Zigbee commands work 99.99% of the time, but those rare failures can be a bit of a nuisance. Imagine coming home to a fan that’s been running all day because the off command didn’t go through—definitely not ideal. That’s why I’ve been experimenting with adding retries to my rules, which has been a lifesaver. But I wonder if there’s a more streamlined way to handle this without having to code each rule individually. Maybe a universal sendCommand function with built-in retries and notifications? If anyone has any insights, I’d love to hear them!

On a lighter note, I stumbled upon the Broadlink RMpro and was pleasantly surprised by its compatibility with Google Home. It took just a couple of minutes to set up, and now I can control it with my voice assistant. I also found this handy app called Intelligent Home Center, which lets me control multiple devices locally via MQTT or HTTP. It’s been a great addition to my setup, especially since I’m still figuring out how to integrate everything smoothly with OpenHab.

Speaking of additions, I’ve been keeping an eye on Govee’s Black Friday deals. Their RGBIC floor lamps and curtain lights are looking pretty tempting, especially with the discounts they’re offering. It’s a perfect time to upgrade my lighting setup and maybe even add a few new features for the holidays. If anyone has tried these products, I’d love to hear about your experiences!

One thing I’ve learned through all this is the importance of regular maintenance. Whether it’s resetting devices, updating firmware, or just giving everything a quick check, it goes a long way in preventing those unexpected issues. I’ve also found that using different apps can really enhance the functionality of my devices, so I’m always on the lookout for new tools that can make my setup even smarter.

If anyone has any tips, tricks, or favorite devices they’d like to share, I’d be happy to listen! Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other make the most out of our smart homes.
