Broadlink Local Control and Integration Insights

As a homeowner deeply invested in smart home technology, I’ve always been fascinated by the potential of automating everyday tasks. Recently, I’ve been exploring ways to enhance my Broadlink RM Pro and Mini setup without relying on IFTTT’s subscription model. The idea of local control is intriguing, especially for tasks like managing my TV’s power states or integrating with my Logitech Harmony system. While I’ve managed to set up basic on/off commands, the challenge lies in creating more sophisticated automations that truly streamline my life.

I stumbled upon an old app that promised local control for Broadlink devices, but it didn’t quite deliver. This led me to experiment with alternative solutions, including RF repeaters, though I’m not entirely thrilled with the setup. The journey has been a mix of trial and error, but it’s also been a great learning experience. I’m now more determined than ever to find a seamless way to control my Broadlink devices locally, perhaps by exploring custom scripts or firmware modifications.

What’s been most rewarding is the sense of accomplishment when I crack a problem or discover a new feature. For instance, setting up a simple automation to turn on my hallway lights when I unlock my smart lock has made a world of difference. It’s these small victories that keep me motivated to explore further and integrate more devices into my smart home ecosystem. I’m excited to see how this project evolves and the new possibilities it will unlock!

If anyone has tips or experiences to share about Broadlink integration or local control solutions, I’d love to hear about them. Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other create smarter, more efficient homes!
