I’ve been on a journey to integrate my Broadlink RM Pro with a variety of devices, including Livolo switches, and I’m thrilled to share my success story. Initially, I faced some challenges, particularly with RF signal consistency and code learning, but persistence paid off!
The Setup
My system includes:
- Broadlink RM Pro as the universal remote
- Livolo switches for lighting control
- Third-party RF devices for additional automation
The Challenges
- RF Signal Learning: I found that the RM Pro required the remote to be very close during the learning phase. Sometimes, I had to press buttons multiple times to get a clean code.
- Livolo Switch Behavior: Some switches were inconsistent, requiring multiple commands to trigger. However, desyncing and resyncing the switches improved reliability significantly.
The Solutions
- Code Analysis: By examining the hex codes of Livolo signals, I noticed patterns that helped me understand why some switches were more reliable than others.
- Single Remote Pairing: Restricting each switch to a single remote button simplified the RF code structure and improved performance.
The Payoff
