I added the camera to Apple Home from the Home app. I also tried adding the camera to Apple Home from within the Aqara app. Settings within the Aqara app confirm that the camera is bound to my Apple ID. I can view the camera within the Aqara app when I’m not home but the camera is unresponsive when viewed in Apple’s Home app. I have an AppleTV hub as well. What other troubleshooting steps can I try?
@xntrik If your Aqara Camera Hub G3 is unresponsive in Apple’s Home app even though it’s bound to your Apple ID and works in the Aqara app when you’re not home, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:
- Check Compatibility: Ensure the Aqara Camera Hub G3 is compatible with HomeKit.
- Ensure Proper Pairing: Double-check that the device is properly paired with Apple Home through the app.
- Check Wi-Fi and Network: Make sure both the Aqara Camera Hub G3 and Apple HomeKit hub (Apple TV in your case) are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Update Firmware: Ensure both your Aqara Camera Hub G3 and Apple HomeKit hub are running the latest software and firmware versions.
- Reboot the Devices: Restart the Aqara Camera Hub G3 and/or the Apple TV to resolve connectivity issues.
- Re-add the Aqara Device: Remove it from the Apple Home app and re-add it by scanning the HomeKit pairing code again.
- Check for HomeKit Limitations: Some Aqara devices may have features not fully supported by HomeKit, check the Aqara app for alternative settings.
- Reset the Aqara Hub: Reset the hub and re-pair it with the Aqara app and Apple Home.
If the issue persists, consider contacting Aqara support for further assistance.
Similar thing happens to my wife’s account, she can view cameras when home but not when away. I have given her the highest privileges within the Apple app but have yet to figure out the problem.
