Hey everyone, I’m reaching out to get some advice on integrating cameras into my smart home setup. I’ve been trying to add a few cameras to my system, but I’m running into some issues that I can’t quite figure out. Let me walk you through what’s been happening.
First, I have a mix of Hikvision and Dahua cameras, all set up on a Blue Iris server. I’ve followed the instructions to add them to my HomeWave setup, but they only work for a short while before stopping. The odd thing is, if I long-press the camera image, it refreshes, but then it stops again after a few seconds. I’ve tried this on both my iPad and iPhone, and the issue persists. It’s definitely frustrating because the cameras work perfectly when I access them directly through a browser or a web tile I created.
I’m wondering if this is a configuration issue on my end or if there’s something wrong with my Blue Iris setup. I’ve made sure all my software is up to date, including iOS and HomeWave. I’ve also checked the camera settings to ensure they’re correctly configured. The cameras are set to MJPEG streams, and I’m not using any username or password for authentication since they’re on my local network.
One thing I noticed is that when I create a web tile using the same MJPEG URL, it works perfectly, but the image is much smaller than I’d like. I was hoping to have a larger, more detailed view within HomeWave. Maybe there’s a setting I’m missing that could adjust the image size or quality?
I’d really appreciate any advice or tips others might have. Have any of you encountered similar issues with camera integration? Did you find a solution or workaround? I’m also curious if others are using Blue Iris as their camera server and how their experience compares.
