Camera SD Card Issues and Notification Setup Tips

Hello everyone! I hope you’re all having a great day. I wanted to share some experiences and tips related to camera SD cards and notification setups, as I’ve been going through some of these issues myself recently. First, let me talk about the camera SD card problem. I have two cameras that I’ve been using for a while now, and I recently noticed that they weren’t recording properly. The SD cards were full, and the camera wasn’t deleting old recordings as I expected. I was a bit confused because I thought the camera would automatically remove older videos to make space for new ones. After some research, I found out that some cameras don’t delete recordings automatically, which can be a bit frustrating. I ended up having to manually delete some old videos to free up space. It’s a bit of a hassle, but at least it worked out in the end. On the topic of notifications, I’ve been trying to set up a better system for low battery alerts. I have several devices that use batteries, and it’s important for me to get notified when they’re running low. I’ve been using the Notifications app, but it seems like the only options are SMS or phone calls, which can be annoying, especially when I’m trying to enjoy music in my car. I would love it if there was an option to send these notifications to my email instead. I found a workaround by setting up a rule that sends a GET request to a server script I have, which then sends an email. It’s a bit of a hack, but it works for now. I also tried setting up a rule to check all 40 devices for low battery, but it’s a bit complicated. It seems like I’d have to manually add each device or use multiple if statements, which isn’t ideal. I’m hoping there’s a simpler way that I’m missing. For now, I’m settling for notifications without device-specific info and checking the dashboard when I get a low battery alert. If anyone has tips on managing camera storage more efficiently or setting up notifications without the need for complex rules, I’d love to hear about them! It’s always great to learn from others’ experiences. Thanks for reading, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts!
