Can I add more than 1 hub to the same system?

Reason I ask this is I have thick walls and some of my temp and humidity t1 sensors loose connection from time to time and I can’t seem to find a central location for my m100 hub

Yes you can, but the child devices are paired to specific hubs and won’t “roam.” However multiple hubs can act together in a hierarchy for automation failover.

I believe the leader can see the devices of child hubs. But child hubs can only see their own devices.

Another benefit of hub cluster is that you only have to connect the leader to other ecosystem (like HomeKit or Matter) and all your devices will be exposed.

Are you sure? This is not how it works for me, and the only apparent benefit of the hub cluster is within the Aqara ecosystem for edge automations.

At least that’s how I understand “child devices if bridging through”, but maybe this feature is limited only to the M3 being a leader

@cezary806 This is not how it works for me either in Apple Home.
I have the Hub M3 and the hub M100.
To see all my devices I had to add them both as bridges in Apple home through homekit.

Oh, then I’m sorry for spreading false info, I pair everything with the M3 (even the farthest devices, because my Zigbee network has strong signal in my whole home) and I just assumed this information from the M3’s FAQ. And actually I was sure it would work like this, because I thought I’ll just buy another M3 and it’ll “just work” when I hit the device limit.

Hello, I recommend not choosing a place for the gateway, but installing an additional repeater to expand the network (Aqara devices that have phase, zero power). For example, I have temperature sensors placed in the backyard basement for storing vegetables, preservation. The distance from the M3 gateway to the T1 thermometer is 15 meters (triple wall of the backyard basement, two walls of the house) and the communication quality is excellent. I am specifically showing a screenshot of the signal from this thermometer. The relay is a socket or a T1 relay, I can’t say for sure because I don’t have a Zigbee card. I have repeatedly asked Aqara to provide us with this card.
