Hi, I know the U200 is generally compatible with most mortise shape locks. I’ve uploaded a photo of my lock. Since my lock protrudes, I’m concerned it might not be suitable for a retrofit. Could you confirm if this is the case?
Hello @Damen1988
Your lock cylinder protrudes a lot and if you want to use it with the U200 you better replace it with a suitable one.
You also need to make sure that the width of your profile is enough for the width of the U200, this is important.
the width of the profile on which your lock is installed should not be less than 62-65 mm, and from the edge to the center of your cylinder should not be less than 30-31 mm.
Hello.
Model a cardboard box of this size according to the dimensions of the U200 that I made and lean it against the location of the lock. Be sure to consider and check whether the thickness of the lining (45 mm) does not touch your door frame when opening the door. In my homemade version, the opening gap is 2 mm ![]()
Guys, thank you so much for providing detailed sizing information and tips. I think I might be able to solve the problem by changing the swing direction. If I change it to swing inwards, the width shouldn’t be an issue. However, I’m worried about the lock protruding. Do you think it will be unstable when I install it?
What do you mean when you say stability?
The quality of the lock’s operation?
It will be more reliable if you replace the cylinder with a suitable one, then the mounting plate can be glued to the profile with 3M tape and secured with special screws to the cylinder, and then it will hold securely and look great.
Hi guys, does the set come with different types of adaptors?
as shown in the youtube
It is hard to find Aqara Cylinder AL-D04E in Thailand
Yes , adapters included
Try searching the internet for “cylinder in a key-rod lock”. That’s what I did. Measure its dimensions for your door. Theoretically, if the rod has a cut, you can use an adapter.
I bought this Aqara U200 AL-D04E as advise. But no matter how i screw in tight. This thing came lose / shaky after i install the lock. So strange.
Hello @Damen1988
You need to rebuild this cylinder to the length you need, here is a video guide for this.
Yes, that is what i did. But problem is no matter how i fasten. it came lose again.
There is screw, but it is short.
Hi, is the screw from the U200 kit?
You are a technical person. The main thing is that the holes match the U200 insert. Pick up other bolts, not from the kit. I also struggled with this, fixed the key insert to the decorative cover, had to look for a bolt 3 millimeters longer (had to saw off a little).
Did you use the adhesive pads that come with the U200? Theoretically, they should eliminate vibration from the lock.
