Hello all. This is my first post on the Aqara forum.
I just wanted to give you a bit of warning when ordering Aqara products online from Walmart. I purchased a pack of 3 door & window sensors 2 months ago. I have a Homey Pro and found I couldn’t add them to that hub. Since I have a bunch of them, I decided to get an Aqara hub as well. I didn’t get around to trying to add them to the Aqara hub until yesterday. I got an error saying I couldn’t use the device in my region. I contacted the actual seller who was selling through Walmart and am still working with him to hopefully get my money back since I can’t use them in the USA. All the text on the boxes is in Chinese, so it’s not that surprising. But he shouldn’t be selling them to people I. The U.S. if the devices are not meant for this region. Just be aware you might not get what you thought when ordering from them.
We apologize that you have encountered such issues. Walmart Online is an open e-commerce platform where there are third-party sellers that are not authorized by us. We will report the relevant issues to Walmart, hoping that the platform will pay attention to them.
The Aqara hub you have is the Chinese version Aqara hub, which can only connect to the Aqara Home app CN server, we would recommend you to get the international version Aqara devices via the official channel:
No. I have the United States hub. The guy who sold the sensors to me on Walmart.com sold me Chinese versions even though he knew I was in the U.S. He shouldn’t sell to regions not supported by the devices.
I think you are not understanding my issue. I’m in the U.S. I have a U.as. hub. I need devices/accessories that are made for my region (the U.S.). The items I got from the guy selling on Amazon are for the China market and region. They do not work in the U.S. He should not be selling them to people in the U.S. I contacted Walmart after he would not allow me to return and get a refund. Not sure what they will do about it.
I just wanted to warn others in the U.S. who may order from Walmart to make sure they don’t get scammed like I did.
Looking at his profile on Walmart.com, he is based in China, but the items were shipped from the U.S. I’m wondering if he stole them in China, shipped them to someone in the U.S. to send them out once someone places an order. That way he won’t get caught. I have no clue. I just know I got a raw deal and wanted to warn others.
