CCU2 to CCU3 Migration and Compatibility Insights

Hello everyone, I’m currently in the process of migrating from a CCU2 to a CCU3 setup, and I wanted to share my experiences and ask for some clarification. I have two adjacent buildings, with the CCU2 installed in one and connected to the other via a LAN gateway. The first building has around 100 wireless devices, while the second has a few heating controls and window contacts. Now, with the introduction of HMIP-WIRED devices, the migration to CCU3 seems necessary.

In the older building, I still have some legacy heating thermostats (HM-CC-TC) and valves (HM-CC-VD) that I’ve been using since 2008. These devices were a bit tricky to switch between AUTO/MAN/CENT modes, but I found a workaround through a forum post. My question is: will this trick work with the CCU3 as well? Additionally, I noticed that the LAN gateway doesn’t support HMIP devices, which means I can only use HM wireless components in the second building. While this might not be ideal, it’s manageable.

I’ve read through the migration guide and appreciate the detailed steps provided. However, I’m curious if others have encountered similar challenges or have tips for a smoother transition. Have you successfully integrated HMIP devices into a mixed network? Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts!
