I recently decided to dive into the world of smart home automation and chose Homematic CCU3 as the core of my system. The decision was inspired by a friend who has a fully automated home using Homematic, and I was truly impressed by the possibilities it offers.
My initial goal was to automate my front door, allowing me to open and close it remotely. However, I quickly realized that the potential of CCU3 goes far beyond that. After some research, I decided to invest in a CCU3 unit, a Keymatic, an optical door contact switch, a remote control for each household member, and a double-pole switch. The installation process was a bit challenging at first, but with some trial and error, I managed to get everything up and running smoothly.
One of the features I’m most proud of is creating my first small program. It automatically locks the door after a set amount of time if the door contact is triggered. It’s a simple yet effective solution that adds an extra layer of security to my home. I’m now exploring further possibilities, such as integrating a doorbell notification to my phone, automating my garage door, and setting up a window-based alarm system.
I’m truly amazed by how much CCU3 can do and how it’s transforming my home into a smarter, more convenient space. I’m looking forward to discovering even more features and sharing my experiences with you all. If anyone has tips or suggestions, I’d love to hear them!
