Happy 5th Birthday to Govee and their amazing team! 
It’s incredible to see how far we’ve come in the world of smart home technology. As a long-time user of Govee products, I wanted to share some of my experiences and tips that might help others in their smart home journey.
One of my favorite Govee products has been the curtain lights. The ability to customize and create detailed designs has really transformed my home decor. I’ve even experimented with adding extra lights and strings to create more intricate patterns. It’s been a fun DIY project that’s paid off in spades!
However, not everything has been smooth sailing. I remember encountering an issue with my Qolsys Panel 4, where the Verizon communicator wasn’t providing a stable connection. After some research, I discovered that switching to an AT&T version of the panel with the 345MHz radio significantly improved the reliability of my system. If anyone else is having similar issues, I’d highly recommend exploring this option!
Another area where I’ve spent a lot of time is automation. I’ve set up a system where my radiator adjusts based on whether the windows are open or closed. While the initial setup was a bit tricky, using the automation editor to link the window sensors with the radiator controls has made my home much more energy-efficient. It’s a small tweak that makes a big difference!
For those looking into more advanced setups, I’ve been impressed by the potential of openHAB for managing solar inverters and load shedding. It’s a bit of a learning curve, but the flexibility it offers is unmatched. If you’re into tinkering with software, it’s definitely worth exploring!
