This year, I decided to take my Star Wars celebration to the next level by integrating some of my favorite smart home devices. I’ve always been a fan of Eliot’s blog post about triggering a lightsaber noise with SmartThings and Sonos, but I wanted to add my own twist to it.
Earlier this week, I stumbled upon a Govee weather station on Mercari for just $20. It’s been a fun addition to my setup, and I love how it blends seamlessly with my other smart devices. Speaking of Govee, I’ve also been experimenting with their strip lights and humidifier to create a calming blue ambiance in my daughter’s bedroom. It’s been a hit, and she loves waking up to that soothing light! 
On the topic of Star Wars, I’m still geeking out over the release of The Force Awakens. If you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend it! My friends and I even had a mini binge-watch marathon last weekend. It’s amazing how technology can enhance our enjoyment of these moments—whether it’s through smart lighting, sound effects, or even DIY projects inspired by the galaxy far, far away.
