I got my first FP300 and I think it would work well for me but I need to change some settings. I have a M2 hub with 12 child devices. The FP300 was added via HomeKit, as were all other Aqara devices, and the detailed settings are not exposed in HK (not a surprise). With my Aqara cameras and doorbell I could simply add those to the Aqara app (my Aqara account) to make changes (e.g. enable RTSP on the cameras). But this doesn’t seem possible with the FP300. If I try to add the FP300 in the Aqara app it seems to suggest resetting my M2 hub (to enable Zigbee?) which I am afraid to do since I fear it might wipe out the 12 child devices which work fine in HomeKit.
What is the easiest/safest path to changing FP300 settings (e.g. sensitivity, delay timer)?

Well, it should be possible to add the FP300 by zigbee to M2.
Can you show us the message which wants you to reset?

Hello @rf2_pub
You need to put the FP300 into pairing mode and by scanning the Aqara code on the sensor, you will be prompted to change the protocol on your FP300. Select Zigbee and after downloading the firmware with the protocol change, you will be able to add your FP300 to the M2 hub.

Thanks for the replies. It is now a few days since I created the post which was quarantined for moderation. Since then I noticed my M2 was still on v3.x firmware which lacked Matter and after trying all the internet wisdom it refused to update to 4.x firmware. So I’ve ordered a M200 hub which will have Matter to start as well as PoE power and etc and will try again to start with Zigbee for my FP300s.

Thanks. The M200 was delivered. I had some trouble adding the M200 in the Aqara app but finally managed it and was able to pick to switch from Thread to Zigbee and add the FP300. I can see the detailed settings of the FP300 as I wished.
How can I then use it in the Home app for automations? Do I have to separately add it to Home using the Matter code?

I was fiddling around in the Aqara app some more and it offered to do HomeKit integration with the M200 so now it shows up. Problem solved.
