As the holiday season approaches, I’ve been busy setting up my smart home for Christmas! 
I wanted to share my experience and some tips for anyone looking to automate their festive decorations.
First, I integrated my Philips Hue lights with Google Home to create a warm, glowing ambiance throughout the house. Using routines, I can now have the lights automatically dim at sunset and switch to a festive color scheme as the evening progresses. It’s amazing how much it enhances the holiday spirit!
However, I did run into a small issue with my cameras. One of them wasn’t showing any video when I tried to access it. After some troubleshooting, I realized it was a temporary glitch that cleared up after a reboot. It’s moments like these that remind me how resilient smart tech can be!
For those looking to add holiday-specific automations, I’d recommend setting up schedules for lights and music. For example, I programmed my system to play seasonal music during Thanksgiving and the kids’ nap times. It’s been a great way to keep the house lively without manual intervention.
