As the holiday season approaches, I’m getting excited to set up my Christmas lights automation! I’ve been experimenting with creating a system that turns on my outdoor lights at sunset and turns them off at sunrise. However, I’m running into some issues with the automation not working consistently. I’d love to hear from others who have successfully set up similar systems—what tools or apps did you find most helpful? 
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
- Automation Trigger: I’m using a template trigger based on the date range (November 10 to January 6) to ensure the lights only activate during the holiday season.
- Condition: The lights should turn on after sunset.
- Action: Turn on the switch for my Christmas light group.
Despite setting this up, the lights aren’t always turning on at the right time. I suspect it might be related to daylight saving time adjustments or some timing discrepancies in the trigger. Has anyone else experienced similar issues? What adjustments did you make to get it working smoothly? 
On a lighter note, I’d love to hear about creative ways others have automated their holiday decorations—whether it’s coordinating lights with music, creating color transitions, or even integrating smart thermometers to ensure outdoor lights don’t get too cold!
