Christmas Lights Headboard Project - Lessons Learned

Christmas lights headboard project - lessons learned! :christmas_tree::sparkles: So, as many of you know, I’ve been working on this lighting project for about a month now, and it’s been a rollercoaster of problems and progress. I wanted to create a light headboard using Christmas string lights, aiming for that fairy light vibe. But boy, did I hit some roadblocks!First off, the LED clips I bought initially didn’t hold up to the wall. After a few hours, they just fell off. Frustrated, I tried a new type of clip, but they lasted only 12 hours. Ordered another type with a stronger adhesive rating—still, they only lasted 2 days. :triumph::face_with_symbols_over_mouth:After reviewing several reviews and ratings, I decided to try one last clip option. I followed the instructions, allowing 48 hours for adhesion before adding the lights. And so far, it’s holding! :crossed_fingers::pray: It’s not up to my usual standards, but at least it’s working now. I need to tighten it up and make it neater.Another challenge was figuring out the layout. I have two strings—one vertical and one horizontal. The vertical string isn’t long enough, and the horizontal one covers everything but looks a bit messy. I’m thinking of shortening the vertical lines and running both strings the same way next to each other. But without trying it, I can’t be sure. The clips are holding, but I’m hesitant to mess with them again. After a month of this, I needed a break. I stepped back, focused on other projects, and enjoyed creating without the pressure of fixing this one. Now that it’s mostly up, I can slowly tweak it without the stress. Here’s the long-awaited, not-yet-finished project! Please don’t be too hard on me—this has been a journey! :sparkles:Lessons Learned:- Test clip adhesion thoroughly before committing.- Plan for multiple iterations when dealing with adhesives.- Take breaks to avoid burnout—stepping back helps in seeing things clearly.Would love to hear your thoughts and tips for improvement!
