Combining Temperature Sensors and Smart Lighting Solutions

Hey everyone, I’m diving into the world of smart home automation and wanted to share some of my experiences and questions with you all. First off, I’ve been working on creating a comprehensive temperature monitoring system for my home. I’ve got multiple rooms with temperature sensors, but here’s the thing—none of them are perfectly placed. Some are on the ceiling near smoke detectors, which tends to give a higher reading, while others are near radiators, which can be affected by the heat from the radiator itself. I’ve been averaging the temperatures from these sensors to get a more accurate reading, but I’m curious if there’s a way to do this directly through the UI without having to create an AVG group. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

On another note, I’ve been exploring smart lighting solutions for my daughter’s room. I’ve got an RGB LED strip from Lidl that’s been working seamlessly with Home Assistant, controlling both brightness and color. However, I want to make it even more user-friendly for her. I came across a Zigbee RGB remote control that seems promising, but I’m not entirely sure how to integrate it into Home Assistant. Has anyone successfully used a Zigbee remote control for RGB LED strips? I’d love to hear about your experiences and any tips you might have!

Lastly, I’ve been thinking about expanding my smart home setup to include more energy-efficient devices. I’ve heard great things about Govee’s smart plugs and lighting solutions, but I’m still on the fence about which ones to choose. Specifically, I’m looking at the Govee H5082 duplex outlet, which allows independent control of each plug. Does anyone have experience with this model and its energy monitoring capabilities? I’d love to know if it’s as reliable as the single outlet version I currently use.

Overall, I’m really enjoying the journey of customizing my smart home, but there’s always more to learn and discover. Thanks in advance for all your insights and advice!
