I’ve been using Vera for a couple of years now, and while it’s been reliable, I’ve been eyeing SmartThings for its integrations with Echo, IFTTT, and Rachio. I’ve set up a SmartThings hub alongside Vera, using Vera for Hunter Douglas blinds and DSC alarm integration, while SmartThings handles zwave lights and other smart devices. The setup is a bit complex, but it’s working well! 
The key was figuring out how to bridge Vera and SmartThings without overlap. I can trigger actions from SmartThings to Vera and read motion sensor statuses into SmartThings, which has been a game-changer. It’s all about using each system where it shines!
