Community Update: Shared Experiences and Tips

Hey everyone! I wanted to take a moment to share some of the incredible things I’ve come across in the community, as well as gather some advice for those of you who might be facing similar challenges. :star2:

First off, I stumbled upon Camden’s project integrating a Roomba with SmartThings and Particle Core. It’s such a cool hack, and his willingness to share the tutorial is really commendable! If you’re looking to add some smart cleaning to your home, this is a must-check. The simplicity of the commands like ‘clean’, ‘dock’, and ‘stop’ makes it super user-friendly. Huge shoutout to Camden for sharing his work!

On another note, I’ve been experimenting with setting up email notifications through Blockly. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but I found a neat workaround using a shell script. The idea is to create a script that sends emails and then call it from Blockly. It’s been working like a charm for alerting multiple people when certain events happen. If anyone has tips on optimizing this setup, I’d love to hear them! :incoming_envelope:

I also wanted to touch on the Arlo system issue some of us are experiencing. It’s a bit frustrating when you can’t control individual cameras or audio settings. Has anyone found a reliable fix or workaround for this? I’d appreciate any insights! :male_detective::male_sign:

Lastly, I’ve been trying to translate some entity states into German for better integration with my setup. For instance, having “Wash” show up as “Waschen” would make the interface more intuitive for non-English speakers. If anyone has experience with state translations or knows of a good method, please share! :globe_with_meridians:

It’s always inspiring to see the creativity and problem-solving within this community. Whether you’re sharing a project, seeking advice, or just looking to connect, there’s so much to learn and contribute. Let’s keep the positivity flowing!

Cheers to all the innovators and helpers out there! Keep those ideas and solutions coming! :rocket:
