Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience with configuring a door access system using EcoStruxure Access Expert. I recently had to set up a meeting on a day when the site would be closing early, and I needed to ensure the door could be configured for ‘card only’ mode during the meeting and then revert back to the normal schedule. This was a bit tricky at first, but I managed to figure it out with some trial and error. Here’s how I did it:
First, I created a holiday for the meeting date and added it to a holiday group. This was essential for the schedule to recognize the special event. Then, I configured a schedule for the meeting date(s) and selected the holiday group I created earlier. This allowed the system to apply the special meeting schedule on the specified day.
Next, I set up two Time and Pattern (T&P) rules. The first rule was to temporarily change the reader mode to ‘Card Only’ using the meeting schedule. I selected the ‘Schedule-Became-Active’ event and chose the ‘Indefinite’ duration option, which worked perfectly. The second rule was to cancel the temporary reader mode and revert back to the standard schedule once the meeting ended. This ensured that the door would unlock and return to its normal operation after the meeting.
I tested this setup, and it worked like a charm! At the scheduled time, the door switched to ‘Card Only’ mode, and after the meeting, it seamlessly reverted back to the standard schedule. It was a bit of a process, but breaking it down into smaller steps made it manageable. I hope this helps someone else who might be facing a similar challenge. Happy configuring! ![]()
