Configuring Fibaro FGS-213 for Motorized Curtains

I recently decided to integrate my electric curtain motor with a Fibaro FGS-213 switch, and I wanted to share my experience in case it helps anyone else. The goal was to automate the opening and closing of my curtains using the Fibaro switch, which I knew was compatible with my Dooya KT82TS motor. However, getting the configuration right wasn’t as straightforward as I hoped.

Initially, I followed the standard setup guide, but the curtains wouldn’t respond consistently. After some research, I discovered that adjusting the switch’s settings was crucial. I had to tweak the timing parameters to ensure the motor received the correct open/close signals. It was a bit trial and error, but once I got the settings right, everything worked seamlessly.

One thing I learned is to monitor the motor’s response closely. If the curtains start moving too fast or too slow, it’s a sign that the timing needs adjustment. I also found that using the Fibaro app to test individual commands (like open, close, and stop) was incredibly helpful for troubleshooting.

Now that everything is set up, I can control my curtains with just a tap on my phone or through voice commands. It’s such a small thing, but it’s made my mornings so much easier—I no longer have to manually adjust the blinds every day. If you’re looking to do something similar, I highly recommend checking out the detailed configuration guides available online. They were a lifesaver for me!

Happy automating everyone!
