Hey everyone, I’m trying to set up a backup system using my Synology NAS with Home Assistant, but I’m running into some issues. Let me walk you through what I’ve done so far and where I’m stuck.
First, I created a backup folder and a user on my Synology DS218, just like I did for my Iobroker setup, which worked perfectly. However, when I try to integrate this into Home Assistant, it doesn’t seem to recognize the NAS. I’ve checked the network settings and confirmed that both devices are on the same VLAN. I’ve also set up a firewall rule to allow access, and I can ping the NAS from Home Assistant. But when I disable that rule, the ping fails, which means the rule is working as intended.
I’ve tried adjusting the settings multiple times, but nothing seems to work. I’m wondering if there’s something I’m missing in the configuration. Maybe there’s a specific port or protocol I need to enable? Or perhaps the path to the backup folder isn’t formatted correctly?
