I’ve been diving into setting up my smart home with motion sensors, and I’ve hit a snag that I’m hoping the community can help me with. I want my outdoor lights to activate only when motion is detected and it’s dark outside. Sounds simple enough, but finding the right sensors and setting them up has been a bit of a challenge.
First, I did some research and found that there are sensors available that detect both motion and ambient light. These seem perfect for my needs, but I’m not entirely sure how to configure them properly. I’ve tried a few different settings in my smart home app, but the lights either come on too frequently or not at all when it’s actually dark.
I’d love to hear from anyone who has successfully set up something similar. What sensors did you use? How did you configure them? Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated!
