Hi everyone! I’m really excited to share my recent experience with setting up multiple thermostats in my Homematic system. I’ve been wanting to optimize my home heating setup, and I think I’ve finally nailed it!
So, here’s the setup: I have a Wohn-/Esszimmer that’s kind of an L-shaped room, and I wanted to connect three radiator thermostats to my Homematic system. Plus, I wanted a central wall thermostat that controls all of them. The goal was to have a time-based schedule so that the room warms up during specific times of the day. Initially, I wasn’t entirely sure how to connect everything properly, but after some research and experimentation, I figured it out!
I started by connecting all the radiator thermostats to each other and then linking them to the wall thermostat. The key was understanding the priority system. For example, if I increase the temperature via the wall thermostat, it stays that way until the next scheduled time slot kicks in. That makes sense and keeps things simple. I was also curious about what happens if I adjust the radiator thermostats individually. Turns out, they work independently, which is great for fine-tuning different areas of the room.
One thing I was a bit confused about was the priority between manual adjustments and the scheduled program. But after testing it out, it became clear: manual changes override the schedule temporarily, and the schedule takes over again at the next programmed time. It’s all very intuitive once you get the hang of it!
I also wanted to make sure that the system is reliable. I’ve been using it for a week now, and it’s been working perfectly. The room heats up when it’s supposed to, and I can manually adjust things if needed. It’s so satisfying to have a system that’s both automated and flexible.
If anyone else is looking to set up something similar, I’d recommend taking the time to understand the priority settings and how the thermostats interact. It’s a bit of a learning curve, but the payoff is worth it. Plus, the community here has been super helpful with tips and troubleshooting advice!
Overall, I’m really happy with how this turned out. It’s made my home more comfortable and efficient, and I can’t wait to explore more features of the Homematic system. Happy heating everyone! ![]()
